MINTEX RACE COMPOUND
DESCRIPTIONS AND APPLICATION

F Series

F1R

The highest torque of the Mintex line. The F1R is a proven formulation with wins in the 2001 season in CART and NASCAR Winston Cup and Craftsman Truck Series. The F1R has high initial
bite, mild progressive torque curve and unequaled pressure sensitivity. This translates to a friction material that has ultra high torque with ultimate control at threshold braking.

Applications include race cars with high horsepower coupled with high mechanical and aerodynamic grip. Used in the 2001 CART, NASCAR, Trans Am.

F2R

Approximate 15-20% reduction in torque loads compared to F1R while maintaining identical friction profile. F1R is ideally suited to Sedan and Light open wheel applications where aerodynamic
downforce is a lower factor. F2R is also the material of choice for CART oval racing.

Proven in competition with wins during the 2001 season in CART (Ovals), SCCA, NASCAR Winston Cup and ARCA, F2R offers the best pedal feel of any competition formula on sale today. Superior
disc finish, good wear characteristics, high friction levels with unmatched pedal feel make this friction compound the material of choice for a wide range of racing classes.

F3R

Approximately 25-30% reduction in torque loads compared to F2R. This material is suited to large oval racing where lower torque is desirable together with the superior pedal feel and friction profile
of F1R and F2R. This compound will also work well on cars with live axles, which cannot tolerate high friction levels but still require the pedal feel and moderate torque levels. Useful in tuning the rear brakes where there is a problem with too much rear bias. F3R compound has many wins in 2001 season in World of Outlaws and other divisions.

F4R

The first ‘F’ Series material developed by Mintex. The F4R is used primarily by club racing and rally applications. Moderate friction levels with little bedding issues and fade free performance at high temperatures make this material ‘user friendly’. F4R friction levels are between the F3R and F2R friction levels.

Applications include: Rally, Club Racing and single makes racing series.

Warning:

It should be noted that these materials were developed for use in the most severe racing environments and offer fade free performance regardless of temperature input. In some cased these materials will exceed the ability of the brake system to handle the generated heart resulting in the brake fluid boiling and a total failure of the brake system. Please consult the Brake OEM manufacturer on your vehicle to ensure that your system has been upgraded to meet these heat
requirements. Use fresh high quality racing brake fluid and change if often. Never leave a container of brake fluid open for more that an few minutes and never mix different brands of fluid.

LOW TO MEDIUM TORQUE MATERIALS:

The Mintex line of club racing materials are ideally suited to the racing needs of the average club racing competitors. Widely used throughout the world these materials continue to win in classes from Formula to group N and from Forest Rally to Desert Rally.
